Dr. Sami A Nizam, II was born in Daytona Beach, FL and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville for his undergraduate training. Following graduation, he stayed in his home state and attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale graduating 4th in his class. Upon graduation he earned the Horace Wells senior award for anesthesia, as well as the American College of Dentist Ethics Award. After earning his DMD degree, he completed a 1 year internship at LSU in New Orleans, where he was introduced to modern concepts of post traumatic facial reconstruction. Dr. Nizam has devoted his professional career to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Facial Cosmetic Surgery. This is exemplified by the breadth of topics he has contributed to the scientific literature including; oral medicine, anesthesia, trigeminal nerve repair, arthrocentesis of the temporomandibular joint, computer aided reconstruction of facial trauma, dental implant site preparation, genioplasty, lower blepharoplasty, and facelifting. He has published on these subjects in peer reviewed journals, multi volume textbooks, as well as being invited to lecture to live audiences. Dr. Nizam is able to provide the highest level of facial care available. However, he feels that patient care is more than surgical technique and training and more about personal relationships. From consultation to post op care he is willing to go the extra mile to make you feel like you are part of his family at Alabama Surgical Arts.
