Dr. Lindley Zerbe was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula. After graduating Summa cum Laude from Carmel High School, he attended Stanford University where he received both his bachelors and masters of science degrees. Dr. Zerbe’s pathway to dentistry began with providing healthcare to people in great need while on mountaineering expeditions in Nepal, Tibet and Pakistan. While on the Everest team, he volunteered to be the team’s medic and so was mentored by the team’s physician in Singapore in high altitude and wilderness medicine. One thing that he noticed was particularly lacking in these poorer areas was dental care. Dr. Zerbe was also inducted into the OKU honors dental society and received awards for excellence in oral and maxillofacial radiology, public health dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.Dr. Zerbe has served as a board member for the Monterey Bay Dental Society for the last 5 years in charge of community relations and was recently voted in as President for 2019.In addition to serving the dental society, Dr. Zerbe is committed to expanding, honing and refining his dental skills and to that end, regularly attends continuing education courses covering various dental topics, from orthodontics to implantology. He is also a member of two local dental study groups, Dental Pearls and Spear Dental Education. He has recently become a member of the Spear Faculty Club and frequently takes trips to the Spear Dental Education Headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ to learn the latest dental techniques.
