Licensing reform: advocacy for expanding interstate portability




The barriers for dentists to easily cross state lines, sometimes referred to as “portability”/”reciprocity”, have been a painful problem for the dental profession for many years. dr. Jonathan Nash, who chaired the American Student Dental Association for Dental Licensing Reform in 1971, strongly believes that if the profession can evoke the will to pursue an antitrust initiative on a national basis, it has a fair chance. has to topple this archaic and egregious barrier in one fell swoop.

dr. Nash, the founder and chairman of the 1969-73 National Council for Improvement of Dental Licensure, examines the current state of dental licensing reform and advocates bolder solutions to drive meaningful reforms.
